In truth, they can't even handle a modern, lightweight LED light (a fraction of the intended use weight). They would make a good ornamental stand for your home, just be prepared to add a screw or three to fasten the metal straps to the legs: they slip down during use. Unfortunately the metal fastenings on the legs are not strong enough to support the tripod. I had one arrive broken, and had to ask the seller for a replacement fastening. This was provided promptly, however the problem is more general. The straps slip with time, causing the tripods to fall over.
