I'm sorry they didn't work for you. We've sold many pairs of these to happy customers. I am personally using these same dowels in my own 1972 Plymouth Satellite. We have installed them on customer cars as well. As with any bellhousing dowels, they are intended to be a tight fit. All mopar small block and big block dowels take the same size. I do not believe they are out of spec.
