At the end of the second hole, I noticed that one of the 2 cutting edges had dulled somewhat. I drilled the holes at my lowest press speed of 720 rpm. I had wanted to purchase a carbide-tipped Forstner bit, but I could only find this one in HSS for the size (1 5/16" diameter) I needed.

After filtering into new glass container, there was no evidence of any water at all, and the debris that was rust was also caught. You just have to take your time in pouring as it is a small funnel filter. Product works as stated.
