Seller and Ebay both offered little more than lame apologies. Ebay's only solution is return and refund. I did not wish to return the lamp since it is fine. I wished only for a partial refund due to the broken shade. The exact same shade can be purchased online. I have purchased other lamps from other sellers who made certain to give extra care to packing the shade.
