It's compatible with 35-millimeter SLR. It was made in Japan and originally released by Canon in 1991. These lenses are fully compatible with both the Canon EF and EF-S mounts. It can be used with EOS film and DSLR cameras. No matter which Canon camera you use it with, the built-in focus motor ensures ultra-quiet operation whenever employing autofocus. The minimum focusing distance for these lenses is set to .5 meters. This allows you to take close-ups that are clear and crisp in quality.If you wish to combine this EF 28-80-millimeter USM version with a filter, it's compatible with 58-millimeter thread sizes. Installing the filter is done simply by screwing it on, so you can quickly complete and move on. This particular zoom lens weighs under a pound, making it very portable and easy to carry with your SLR. The mount consists of a durable and long-lasting metal. It comes in a solid black styling with easy-to-read white and gold lettering. Even for beginners, the features on this model are spelled out in a manner that's easy to understand. The zoom ratio is set to 2.85x, giving you full control over what types of photos you wish to create.This standard 80-millimeter system consists of five diaphragm blades, allowing for a pleasing bokeh effect with each photo you take. This particular model of lenses measures at 6.6 inches by 6.2 inches by 5.9 inches, so it can easily fit into a bag when not in use. This USM V model was crafted to reduce the amount of distortions that can affect image quality. This includes everything from chromatic aberration to flare. In fact, a separate flare-cut movable diaphragm is included in the construction of this system.The equipped ultrasonic focus drive allows for high speed use of the auto-focusing feature. Depending on your exact magnification when snapping a photo, you're provided with a range of viewing angles. At closer zooms, your viewing angle decreases for a more focused image.
