Showcasing 45 sweeping years in music, Azymuth's band leader delivers an innovative set of jazz, cinematic scores, funk and true Latin anthems. Latin Grammy nominee Zé Roberto brings together the Rio Strings Orchestra and the very best Brazilian players on these stunning live recordings. Direct from Rio de Janeiro, Bertrami's enduring passion and creativity combine to create a seminal solo collection. Aventura sees Zé Roberto record songs more personal and often with a more Western influenced sound. Bertrami's choice of musicians sets this recording apart: David Brinkworth (Harmonic 33) travelled to Rio from the UK with executive producer Joe Davis (Far Out Recordings founder) to record the live sessions. With nods to his Aventura heritage, newer trends emerging from Rio, and Bertrami's grand vision, this more than fulfilled Davis's hunger for a unique old school record drawing upon Zé Roberto's reams of unreleased and unrecorded scores. After five days spent with Brinkworth, picking the very best tracks, Bertrami bossed the studio, full of energy and enduring passion to deliver a set of the highest quality. The result is an authentic jazz record that draws in tropical vibes and American influences to create the perfect slice of his music culture. Aventura is Bertrami's seventh album under his own steam following on from his previous solo effort for Far Out Recordings, 2001's Things Are Different (FARO 053CD, 2001). Aventura smoothly moves between classic piano led jazz, to almost psychedelic electric guitar that darts around Bertrami's instantly recognizable Rhodes, organ, keyboard scores and improvisations.
