The Lonel converter box was exactly what I was looking for. I had actually just read an article "Lionel's Long Forgotten AC Rectifier -- the DC Converter Box." Admittedly a tiny audience would be interested in this subject. But the converter box was only manufactured for a couple of years around 1990. What's it good for? The box converts AC power from a Lionel train transformer to DC power. The item on eBay was new in its original box including instructions. Quite a find.
