Passion. Uniqueness. All things that make us who we are. Individuals. With one listen to Courtney Phelps, you now you've found just that. For Courtney, this is more than music. This is life. "If I can do just that, 'stop one heart from breaking', I feel that I'm where I'm supposed to be. What I'm called to do is be a woman after God's heart. To reach out to people, not only through my music, but with my life. "This has not always been her attitude. There was painful road to get her to this point of surrender. "When I was a sophomore in high school, there was a terrible accident that killed four of my classmates. I had been wrestling with God prior to that about committing to music ministry. But the Lord used that terrible place in my life to bring me to a place of surrender. Not long after that happened, I rolled out of bed one night, got on my face and surrendered my will." Life hasn't been the same for Courtney since then. Since that day of surrender, she has always been involved in music ministry. "Now that I have given my heart to this ministry, my life has been full of so much more joy. Whether I'm leading worship for our youth group, or singing at another church, or wherever the Lord has me, there's nothing else I'd rather be doing. I love to minister." What you see is what you get. No fancy facades. This is who she is. "I think my album really reflects who I am, and where I've been. I think the song that I hold so close to my heart is "Your promise." That song was written one day after I got home from work. I was so frustrated with the fact that I wanted so much more from my life and I felt that I was stuck. How could I get to the other side? Where I could pursue my hearts desires. That song just came from above and encouraged me. "Your promise in enough for me/your promise is all I need/so I will trust You in this waiting/in this in between." From more progressive anthems like "All for You" to the more piano driven pop "Your Promise" this project has it all. This is one act that is sure to stick around for a long time. "'If I could stop one heart from breaking,' that is my desire. To introduce my generation to a God that can heal them and restore them."
