Product Information

The sport of drag racing can now be enjoyed in the confines of your living room with the release of Dragster. The object of the game is to either cross the finish line before your opponent or race against the clock for the best time. <br><br>Each player races from left to right on a horizontally split screen. Once you're ready, you'll be able to rev up the engines before shifting the gear out of neutral. Yet, if you're not careful while doing this, the engine might blow! The fire button represents the dragster's gas pedal, while pushing left on the joystick enables you to switch between the four gears. <br><br>The trick is to keep the dragster going as fast as possible without blowing the engine. To do this, you'll need to keep an eye on the tachometer, which is a horizontal bar that moves from green to red for as long as you hold the button. The red area is where you'll get the most performance from your vehicle, but it is also close to the engine's "danger zone."<br><br>Once you've mastered the basic game, a second mode allows you to steer the dragster by moving up and down on the joystick. You'll then have to avoid the center divider and grandstands while shifting gears! <br><br>Finish the race in under six seconds to become eligible for the "World Class Dragster Club."
