I did use it out of its norm. On my GMC Sierra, the original rubber at the bottom of the windshield was dilapidated. It is actually attached to a plastic tray that sits under the window washers. Instead of placing the U-shaped part at the edge of the windshield, I placed it on this tray so it would perform like the original part that had fallen off in most places.
