This high-performance Hitachi Travelstar 4K40 HTS424040M9AT00 contains a more efficient power consumption system than previous models, as well as a larger range of capabilities and tools. This external hard drive uses True Track Servo technology, which can alleviate problems in system integration, add protection against vibration and disk shift, and enhance the reliability of the hard drive itself. Along with TTS, the Hitachi 40 GB hard drive also features DFT, S.M.A.R.T., and a self-monitoring analysis system that predicts and attempts to prevent instances of catastrophic failure to the hard drive system. The Hitachi Travelstar 4K40 HTS424040M9AT00 supports high performance even at high temperatures through its adaptive control functions. An optimised single disk build protects the external hard drive from unnecessary shocks while the ECC protocols provide increased integrity for all data. In addition, this Hitachi 40 GB hard drive is 0.9 cm high, 7 cm wide, and 10 cm deep, and it weighs only 0.1 kg.
