I purchased a sample, gently ran it under a tap (being careful not to wet the underside) but water ran straight through the quilted stitching holes and soaked the backing. I contacted the seller, explained what had happened and give them their due, they immediately apologised and refunded my money. They said they would look into the issue so hopefully this is not still being marketed as a waterproof material.

Just watch it if you're using velcro as that creates pulls if you're not careful. Really pleased with it though.
