The Eternal Shadowis the second book in The Selene trilogy, following The Last Feather. A contemporary epic fantasy with worlds of magic, monsters and a war looming. The story begins with Cassia back where she belongs, but something is different--she still has access to her magic and chooses to use it in the hospital where she works. The Firsts become aware of her use of magic in a non-magical realm and abduct her. Upon finding out that she has rare healing magic, the king employs her as his personal healer. Meanwhile, Lucas and their friends are hiding from the king, biding their time while they figure out their next move. Prince Lochlan spends his time in the castle, pretending to be under the king's command while secretly feeding information to his mother and Lucas, that is, until he sees Cassia at the castle.
