If you want to run these in an 89 k1500, you'll need 4x6 to 4" adapter plates. These produce clean highs and can get pretty loud. They're a little lackluster in middle frequencies and especially the low-end, but that's to be expected from such a tiny speaker. Looking forward to my next DS18 purchase though.
