This company was most helpful in answering my question and presenting the product well in their description. After corresponding with the owner, I wondered it the sword and shield would stand up to an 8 year old playing with it, and he suggested it may not be sturdy enough to withstand rough play. However, after they arrived and I inspected them, I thought they were very well made, beautifully done and worth the money. I did try to secure the paint job by applying several coats of polyurethane.
