    I bought this radio to replace that I accidentally dropped into the lake at my local sailing club. I learned the lesson that these good quality radios sink fast and bury themselves in the mud so you cannot retrieve them. Now all the radios have 8 inch foam floats made from swimming pool noodles. Although the M71 radio is no longer being made they are a robust radio to last a long time. If you post a radio back to Icom they will check it and service it for a fraction of the cost of a new radio.
