This 4-CD set brings together for the 1st time all the known performance recordings featuring Parker that were made during his association with Savoy. 3 CDs are devoted to live recordings by his quintet originally broadcast from a New York nightclub in 1948-49. The other CD includes a mix of Chicago jam sessions and a 1947 concert at Carnegie Hall. Legendary names that appear over the 61 tracks include Dizzy Gillespie, Miles Davis and Max Roach. 60-page booklet features essays and rare photos.
