The Polar FS1 heart rate monitor also includes extra features like a stopwatch in a comfortable unit that fits men and women. Fashionable colors like black and bright blue make the Polar FS1 heart rate monitor a fun accessory for joggers, walkers, and anyone who appreciates exercise. The elastic chest strap is both durable and comfortable, and it remains in place under a light T-shirt or an all-weather jogging suit. The transmitter continuously monitors your heart rate as you exercise, and sends the information directly to your wrist unit so that you can keep track of each heartbeat. The watch strap is made from thermoplastic polyurethane, and both portions of the Polar FS1 heart rate monitor are water resistant to 50 meters, making them an excellent choice for exercise even when the weather is humid. Additional watch features include a basic clock display, stopwatch, day and date display, and an easy-to-set alarm clock for days when exercise begins early in the morning. It is recommended that the battery be changed by a professional. The watch features extra large digits, making it simple to read even while running. Training features include a calorie counter, the ECG heart rate monitor, a target maximum heart rate zone, and a standard heart rate zone that are designed to be custom set by the wearer. The alarm rings when your target heart rate falls outside of the set parameters, and all of the content saved in the monitor can be used to construct a custom fitness program.
