All PMTs are destroyed by even moderate light exposure and should be always be covered in foil or other light proof coverings until they are put into their housings. Never leave them out uncovered on a bench or table. NEVER NEVER out in the sun as they will be permanently destroyed in seconds. Returning to the dark has minimal recovery. I’ve taken a chance on these because they were reasonably priced]
