This cable modem provides fast Internet Service Provider (ISP) access and no equipment lease is needed, unlike modems that you get directly from your ISP. Because there is no need to lease equipment, users have the ability to connect directly to their cable ISP and avoid paying extra monthly costs for the use of their cable modem. The NETGEAR CMD31T-100NAS 153.6 Mbps Modem has over 150 Mbps download and upload speed, making it easy to stream HD videos, download files and other content faster, and participate in high-speed online gaming. This cable modem also supports IPv6, a very strong, secure version of the Internet Protocol (IP). The NETGEAR CMD31T-100NAS 153.6 Mbps Modem is compatible with most U.S. Cable Internet Providers such as Cablevision, Charter, Comcast XFINITY, Cox, Time Warner Cable, and more. It is also CableLabs certified, which means that the device has passed a series of tests for compliance with applicable specification. It has demonstrated interoperable functionality with the CableLabs certified devices. This certification facilitates consumer choice, widespread deployment of new technologies, and lower costs to both cable operators and consumers. In addition to the certification, it also has DOCSIS 3.0 which makes it four times faster than DOCSIS 2.0. The NETGEAR CMD31T-100NAS 153.6 Mbps Modem provides the one Gigabit Ethernet port, which offers the fastest wired speeds to connect to your router for Wi-Fi connection or directly to your computer via a cable. This Ethernet port comes with auto-sensing technology, making it easy for anyone to use. The NETGEAR CMD31T-100NAS 153.6 Mbps Modem is small and light, making it easy to store without taking up too much space. The dimensions are 6.9 by 4.5 by 1.2 inches, and it weighs only 0.68 pounds. This cable modem comes with a stand for easy storage, one Ethernet cable, and one power adapter. The system requirements to use this modem are as follows: cable broadband Internet service, Microsoft Windows 7, 8, Vista, XP, 2000, Mac OS, or any other operating system running a TCP/IP network, and Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.0, Firefox 2.0, Safar 1.4, or Google Chrome 11.0 browsers or higher.
