I fully understand Mercury does not make their own parts anymore,however when it is mercury or quicksilver they have markings in packaging or on their products. I have no way of saying it is not so I will believe the seller. Guess time will find out. Last one lasted 30 years/475 hours. Also this is the new style pump. the old has 2 SS plates for front and back. This has only 1. Just as an FYI for people out there. Appears Good product
