This would be considered a NEW OLD STOCK part. A very small number of these valves were covered with oil from factory to protect against corrosion. Some of this oil may have dried up and became sticky. Absolutely no harm to the valve, But would recommend cleaning off before installation. Coming from a shop setting will have storage wear on retail packing and shop dust. Depending on quantity ordered, may not ship with retail box, may just be valve itself. Photos are STOCK photos I took myself.”
