The use of a paper gasket is easier to reinstall the diff cover and saves time and less messy then using gasket maker sealant. Just make sure the mating surfaces are squeaky clean and flat and retaining bolts tight to specification. Diff oil can filled straight away and no having to wait for sealant to dry.
