The BASIS sensor had been specifically developed for the Canon EOS 650 to control the AF - a first in the industry. Numerous metering modes enable this 35 mm SLR film camera to determine the correct exposure level for shooting a photo. With a top shutter speed of 1/2000 second, this Canon film camera delivers blur-free photos even when shooting fast-moving objects. With a sync speed of 1/60 seconds, the 35 mm SLR film camera ensures correct flash timing, for obtaining brighter photos in the dark. The fixed pentaprism viewfinder of the Canon film camera is bright and contrasty, and offers 0.8X magnification at infinity.
