I bought this to replace a trigger hook on a dog lead because the spring in the previous one had rusted through contact with seawater. Although this one is made of brass I found that again it has the weak point of a small coiled spring. If this is intended for marine use no doubt it too will rust. I had thought that it would have had a blued steel leaf spring which would have avoided this problem. As I fitted it to my daughter’s lead I no longer have it to provide a photo.
