The description says specifically that this ignition is for a 94-04 ninja 500. The only difference between that year range and the previous is that the 94 and up have a 100ohm register in them. The one I received did not and so the bike wouldn't run. When I contacted the seller they said they don't put a resistor in, that it is up to me to do it.
So the ignition they sold me is for a 1984 to 93 and they expected me to modify it to make it work. Don't lie in your discriptions.
