One material did not maintain a magnetic field after the external magnetic field was removed, the other did, indicating a high level of impurities. I will not be buying from this seller again, as they are not selling Iron, but steel filings. I figured since it was a science vendor, it would be of a higher quality... but this is no longer true. Buyer beware.
