Jimmy's Pizza was formed in 2003 by friends and then high school students Jim, Zander, and Nick. Originally known as Band Geeks, the band started out playing basement shows to their friends. After recording two demos and changing their name, they settled on current drummer TI in 2006. A planned full length album was recorded in 2007, but never released. The recordings were shelved and the band went on hiatus while school and careers took priority. After regrouping in 2010 to start playing shows again, they decided to take another crack at a full length album. The album 'Do It All Again' represents the culmination of the past 8 years for Jimmy's Pizza. It includes the best songs from the duration of the band's existence. The opening track 'Ignorant' is the first song they played at their very first practice back in 2003, while other songs were first played by the band during the recording of the album. The title of the album, a line taken from the song 'Band Camp,' also references the fact that the band is revisiting many of their older songs and making a 2nd attempt at a full album. At the same time, the phrase 'Do It All Again' is an appropriate motto for their music. The lyrics are often about wishing for the way things used to be, while the music's now retro pop-punk style is nostalgic in it's own way. Keeping with the tradition of their punk rock roots, Jimmy's Pizza made 'Do It All Again' completely DIY. The album was recorded bit by bit over a 10 month period at TI's house. All the recording, mixing, and mastering was done by the band. The result is a sound that Jimmy's Pizza hopes will take you back to a time when pop-punk was still fun. They want to show the world that songs can still be about break-ups and growing pains without being depressing, and that music can be catchy and melody driven while still being energetic and raw. If albums like Dookie, Dude Ranch, and Sticks And Stones mean something to you, then Jimmy's Pizza might be just what you're looking for.
