Research with patients raises particular ethical issues because of their vunerability in illness, their dependency on others, and the distribution of power within the health care arena. Finally, Section Three focuses on two highly pertinent topics: ethical review, and the teaching of nursing research. The World Medical Association Declaration of Helsinki of 1964, amended in 1989, appears as an Appendix to the book.
