Also includes a chapter treating popular remedies for deafness, and a chapter on dumbness in connection with deafness ('deaf-mutism'). Hoolihan 2252: "The authors discuss the anatomy, physiology and diseases of the ear, as well as preventive measures against deafness and a 'review of some of the popular remedies for deafness.'
