I wanted to mount it to a stud (approx 1.5" in width.) But this bracket can't be mounted to a normal wall stud with the existing holes, as they are 2 7/8" apart. I would have preferred the coaxial hole eliminated (it's cumbersome) & a higher back with two countersunk holes stacked vertically for stud mounting. High quality bracket, but the design needs refinement.
