Notes
The Dunbrody was one of the ships that took victims of the Irish famine took America. A replica of the ship is moored at Waterford in Ireland and I visited her during a holiday one year. I'd read a little about the Irish famine, but seeing a full size replica brought home the horrors of that period home very vividly. Not just how small the ship was, but the conditions that those poor emigrants had to endure. It had a profound effect on me. As soon as I got home I picked up a guitar and Voyage of the Dunbrody was the first track that I composed.
