This spring compressor also works for the Mercedes 107 series, ie the SL450/SLC450 etc. it takes a bit of time to get the plates in the spring to compress but doable. Once the spring is in the “car” the way to remove the compression plates is to put a jack under the lower control arm and allow the control arm to drop far enough that the spring doesn’t fall out but is extended enough to allow you to remove the plates. Easiest if you swivel the plates towards the center of the spring.
