Im Gegensatz zu bisherigen Veroffentlichungen zur Psychosomatik der Sterilitat wird die Problematik der ungewollten Kinderlosigkeit hier erstmals interdisziplinar eingeordnet in den Kontext von Geschichte, Biologie, Psychologie und Gesellschaft."
