Remote is brand new as advertised but it came with a very sticky reside on the backside. I researched the problem and successfully removed the sticky residue with baking soda paste and a lot of elbow grease. The remote works perfectly with batteries now installed. I would have given 5 stars for the item description (new) if I hadn't needed to remove the sticky residue from the backside.
