This is early Nat, when he led a piano trio and was considered one of the top jazz pianists, in addition to singing. This set may have the best sound quality for these recordings. As an alternative, there is a four CD set called The MacGregor Years, 1941-1945 on Music and Arts Programs of America which covers them more thoroughly.
