I connected the two halves with an IronRidge Bonded Structural Splice (XR1000-BOSS-01-M1) purchsed from another ebay vendor, added 3/16 inch aluminum rivets to prevent movement while installing, cut the 2 assembled rails to 168 inch length to match existing rails, and I am ready to install the 2 IronRidge XR-1000 rails.
