Dozens of these kits have sold with no complaint. Also, from my own experience in rebuilding these engines, I have not come across any different sizes. The only thing that I can think of is that the age of these engines could mean that some have been modified/repaired. I currently have a block with a corroded core plug aperture. I've yet to resolve this issue.
