I didn't know until I removed mine that the 2006+ GMT360 platforms with the 4.2l do not have a return on the fuel rail, it's just before. A redesign that apparently the seller didn't know either since it was advertised for all 02-09 vehicles. Wrong! So I cleaned mine up, replaced the injectors and put it back on the car.
