About this product

Product Information

Keep your vintage equipment working perfectly with the help of these Mullard E180F tubes. Designed for use as a wide-band amplifier, Mullard primarily created the E180F for telephone carrier systems, measuring equipment and radar equipment. However, these vacuum tubes are also used for preamp amplification in high-end stereo receivers, providing front-end amplification to elevate the signal up to the UHF range of the spectrum. The E180F is a high-slope RF pentode that works in a wide range of vintage electronic equipment, making these vacuum tubes a fantastic choice for anyone interested in restoring high-quality, vintage receivers or retro radar and measuring equipment. Part of Mullard’s series of special quality valves, these E180F tubes provide great value and ensure that your older high-end equipment works like new. One of the first things you notice about these tubes is their relatively small size when compared to other vacuum tubes. Within the tube’s small envelope lies an even smaller valve, which helps to reduce the signal flows between the tube’s electrodes, also known as inter-electrode capacitances. By reducing the inter-electrode capacitances, these E180F tubes help to raise the level of maximum usable frequency at which your device can operate. The Mullard E180F CV3998 tube features standard B9A base pins. These base pins are constructed from gold to ensure the highest quality and long-lasting durability. The Type E180F vacuum tube was specially developed by the Mullard Radio Valve Company, which released the first version of this tube in 1955. These E180F tubes feature a thin, glass tube envelope that measures 20mm in diameter and 38mm high, excluding the base pins. British valve designer Captain Stanley R. Mullard founded the Mullard Radio Valve Co. Ltd. in London in 1920. Mullard had previously worked for the British Admiralty designing radio valves. In 1923, as a way to continue to meet the increasing needs of the BBC, Mullard formed a partnership with Dutch manufacturer Phillips, which eventually bought Mullard in 1927. However, despite its Dutch ownership, Mullard valves continued to be produced in the United Kingdom and would go on to build a much-deserved reputation for producing some of the highest quality, most durable valves on the market. In addition to the E180F tubes, Mullard was also responsible for developing many of the most iconic valves ever produced, such as the EL34, EL37, EL84 and EF86. As well, Mullard also designed the always popular ECC83, GZ34 and GZ37 valves. The small size and elegant, durable construction of the Mullard E180F vacuum tubes ensures that they will act as a workhorse, when you are restoring vintage electronic equipment, while also making these valves beautiful enough to display in the home. Mullard vacuum tubes are prized by audiophiles, collectors and restorers of vintage equipment for their incredible quality, and these E180F tubes are no exception.
