Product Information
The Polar package includes a manual and the RS400 running computer, which you wear on your wrist. You also have a transmitter that sends your heart rate data to the computer. A special foot pod sensor detects your running speed/pace as well as distance measurements and sends this data to the computer as well. The unit measures your performance in minute detail to allow you to see your fitness level and your progress. Define your target zone for your workouts with options for training beats per minute or a percentage of your maximum heart rate. The HRmax tool helps you determine the best intensity zones for you. Take the Polar Fitness Test to allow Polar to assign your recommended maximum heart rate. The test uses your heart rate and the variability at rest in conjunction with personal information you enter into the computer. The RS400 heart rate monitor also calculates the number of calories you burn as you work out. This calculation uses your age, gender, height, weight, and exercise intensity. When you begin a training session, define your target zones for intensity according to your heart rate. When you stray outside of the zone, the monitor will emit an audible and visual alarm. Both under- and over-training can be a concern for athletes. The recording features of the RS400 will keep track of all of your training zones for long-term analysis. The watch is backlit for effective viewing, even in low light conditions. The oversized watch display also enhances viewing. You also have options for text display in English, Spanish, French, and German. Dual time zone settings provide additional options. The watch also shows both date and weekday and a low battery indicator. Activate a button lock while training to make sure that you don’t press buttons accidentally. Set reminders to activate alarms, either in connection with training or for other daily tasks. Built-in water resistance up to 50 meters ensures full functionality at all times, even underwater.
