    The HO train layout I’m designing features several construction projects, and that requires heavy equipment. Diecast Masters has created numerous different Caterpillar machines, but the downside is that they don’t have enough variety in the 1:87 (HO) scale. I researched actual Cat machines and figured the 972 should be larger than the 950 series that are a dime a dozen. Alas, they’re very close in size. But the seller had a great deal, so I bought two, and they shipped them to me in a week.
