The brightness has nothing to do with the "quality" of the bulb. If you wanted a brighter bulb, you should have ordered one. Most likely, the original bulb you had is a 6 volt bulb and you burned it out by running it at 12 volts. Sure, that is very bright, but you have to constantly replace it.
