Has adjustable voltage and that is a huge positive if you run MTH, LGB and Marklin stuff, as the decoder limits are different in most US marketed items vs European marketed locomotives. Also has 6a of punch, so it could be used to power an entire dcc HO/N scale layout without the need for boosters. For the money it's a beast and 1/2 the cost of most others (Central station, etc).
