The Behringer C-1U USB condenser microphone is great for podcasting or digital home recording enthusiasts alike. It is a professional quality condenser microphone that is identical to its predecessor the Behringer C-1, with the only difference being that this microphone has a built-in USB interface to allow for fast recording with minimal preparation and accessories. You can just plug it into a computer and then start recording. USB microphones are the primary type used in professional recording studios, as well as radio stations. These types of mics are the ideal choice for recording acoustic instruments and vocals. What makes this type of mic different from dynamic microphones is the way sound is collected. The condenser microphone collects sound from the entire environment, such as a room, instead of only picking up sounds directly in front of it. As a result, it is able to capture a greater amount of detail with a cardioid pickup pattern resulting in a flatter and wider frequency response. Conventional condenser microphones are not usually able to interface with a computer unless a microphone preamplifier, as well as an analog to a USB surface, is provided. Now all you have to do is load the Kristal software to edit or add tracks, and then use Podifier to upload your audio onto the Internet. The Behringer C-1U makes it very easy to get started, but don’t be fooled by its simplicity, because this mic is a pro caliber device that delivers outstanding audio quality. It features a flat frequency response that is exceptional and has a pristine sonic resolution to ensure that audio sounds as close to the original source as possible. The Behringer C-1U features an ultra low noise and transformerless field effect transistor input circuitry that can handle the most extreme of dynamics going all the way to 136 dB. Its frequency response is ruler flat from 40Hz to 20kHz. Even revved up jet engines can be recorded without sounding distorted. The Behringer microphone is made of durable metal and features high-quality components that include a swivel stand to increase mobility. This microphone is ideal for both studio and live applications and can be confidently used with exceptional results by both the pro and amateur audio artist.
