Original hardcover boards show wear appropriate for a book of this age such as scuffing, corner rubbing, light staining, fraying, and color fading. Writing/inscription to the front board shows a date of 1855, which leads Applied Memetics to believe the boards may have been replaced as book is from 1857. "First" cut out of the title on the spine. Front endpaper pastedown shows considerable wear. This book has been well-scribbled in, with many notes/underlining throughout. Pages show good amount of foxing and yellowing, some stained. Please see photos for specific details. All flyleaves are missing, title page has a tear. Some other pages have tears, not obscuring text. One page has a diagram cut out. 252 pages, unclear if anything has been cut off due to missing flyleaves. Although in a little bit rough shape, still a historical & educational treasure!
