      I was expecting paint stencils that peeled off its backing and not something I had to cut out myself

      I am always available for any questions you might have had. This usually happens when your body is not cleaned and roughed up. You do need to have a clean surface for the vinyl to stick to, then you press down all the edges of the masking to the clean surface, then you slowly peel the transfer tape off, starting at the end without the sharp edges, not the other way around.
