    The inner and outer splines for the power tool drives properly, however the Shopsmith power accessory coupler has an internal spring to keep horizontal pressure towards the accessory tool. That way, should the power head loosen and move away, the coupler will disconnect from the power head. Without the spring, in the same senario, the coupler could stay connected to the power head and become a missle. This spline adapter is hollow at the center. It should be filled solid.
