Link multiple computers to the device with the freedom to print from up to five computers at the same time, thanks to the printer's built-in Ethernet cables. Confidently tackle large-scale printing projects as the printer efficiently prints black ink pages with a speed of 36 pages per minute and color at 27 pages per minute. Users are free to print the projects how they want with the HP Deskjet 6940's double-sided print feature. From documents to straight-from-the-camera photo prints, you can print what you need.This Deskjet is perfect for home and office use, and its features, size, print quality, and price make it a great option for college students. It is 17.5 inches long, 8 inches wide, and 5.5 inches tall. Since it has a small foot print, it is easy to tuck the printer away in your room or office while you use its Ethernet feature to print from any computer or laptop. You can easily print pictures by using the printer’s USB port with PictBridge cameras or phones.On the left front is a control panel for handling the printer’s functions. It has an on/off button, a cancel button, a resume button, and a button for giving you a printer report. You will also find LEDs that show the status of your network connection and ink status. The paper tray handles both input and output. The input tray can take up to 150 sheets and sits below the output tray. The input tray is filled by flipping up its cover. Besides the standard printing size of 8.5 inches by 11 inches, this Deskjet can also handle envelopes, postcards, and 4-by-6-inch photo paper. There is an extension that can be pulled out when using longer paper.With the model HP Deskjet 6940 inkjet, you use separate ink cartridges for color and black. If you print mostly text, the more expensive color ink is not wasted should you run out of ink in the black tank. This printer is shipped by the manufacturer with full ink cartridges. The second tri-color and gray cartridges, used for photo printing, are available as separate supplies.It is easy to access the Deskjet's two cartridges through the flip-up front cover. All you have to do is open the front cover, flip up the cover over the ink tank, and pull the cartridge straight out. To print photos, there is a second tricolor cartridge which replaces the black cartridge. The result is photos that are printed with six colors, which means you get a reproduction of the image that looks just like the picture you took. For gray-scale pictures, there is a gray cartridge replacement.
