The motor/rim appears to be definitely genuine (but not "new"). The motor appears to have come out of a disassembled max g2 because it has the telltale goo on the connector that segway applies to reinforce the connections. This motor is what you need to get your max G2 running again (I think, I wont be installing mine for a long time but this spare looks exactly right 3)
